Notes:

When you accept the task you are given Mechano-Tool Kit. After you collect the cogs, you use this on a steamwork to swap out the cog. In only has a range of 10, and can only be used on a low health robot model mob. Currently it is bugged and consuming an extra Class A Cog on every use, so plan on collecting quite a few extra. Also, ONLY use this on steamworks, don't try on anything that isn't a gnome-like robot, otherwise it just consumes a Class A Cog with no gain.
