Progression

Kar'Zok

For a write up of how to gain immunity, see Essence of the Dragon I.

Kar'Zok sarnak (green sarnak) can be found in Kor-Sha Laboratory. They are a Kar`zok soldier, a Kar`zok warrior, and the Kar`Zok Overlord.

The Kar'Zok have a deadly aura, Aura of the Kar'Zok, and the Kar`Zok Overlord also has Gust of Atrebe. These will pretty much kill you. However, you can gain immunity to them by completing the quest Methods of Sarnak Destruction. In order to request Methods of Sarnak Destruction, you must first complete most of the Empires of Kunark group progression.

Once you complete Methods of Sarnak Destruction you gain the achievement Essence of the Dragon I (Group), which grants immunity to Gust of Atrebe and Aura of the Kar'Zok.

Raid Progression

There is only one tier of raid armor in Empires of Kunark. The tiers listed below are based on flagging requirements.

Surviving T3 raids

Here is what I was told is needed for all raiders to survive some or all of the T3 raids:

These achievements are under Empires of Kunark > Progression

Achievement: Essence of the Dragon I (Group) - All raiders must complete this or you die in at least one of the T3 EoK raids.

Completing the following to gain some protection against the Kar'Zok:

{checkbox} Methods of Sarnak Destruction - Ingisitorma Varro in Frontier Mountains

GRANTS YOU THIS ACHIEVEMENT REWARD:

AA: Essence of the Dragon

The essence of the Kar'Zok is within you but it still feels foreign. This passive ability grants you immunity to Gust of Atrebe and Aura of the Kar'Zok.

Requirements: Level 100, No previous ability requirements.

This achievement is gotten by completing the EoK group progression quest Methods of Sarnak Destruction given by Ingisitorma Varro in Frontier Mountains. This is a solo quest, so you need to do all of the progression yourself before the NPC will give you this quest.

Achievement: Essence of the Dragon II (Raid)

This one is obtained by 6 players at a time after a win in The Kar'Zok EoK raid.

From Allakhazam: Raid Expedition: The Kar`Zok

In the southern room behind the Snowblaze, you will find 6 targetable boxes mixed in with the zone’s decorative static boxes. The player who breaks a box open will receive a 5 minute buff called Unstable Potion. That person with the Unstable Potion buff will want to position themselves to intentionally get hit by a Kar`Zok's Breath of Atrebe spell, which will then trigger the Unstable Infusion buff.

Acquiring the Unstable Infusion buff is the necessary key for unlocking the Essence of the Dragon II (Raid) achievement, granting immunity to the zone’s Aura of Kor-Sha.

Note that the box places the buff on the box breaker, so it is very important that you do not use pets to crack a box open! Also note that the achievement is not awarded until event completion, so you cannot farm boxes.

Finally, do not die after receiving Unstable Potion but before receiving Unstable Infusion, or you will have wasted the box. Dying after Unstable Infusion does not matter, the achievement is still awarded on completion of the event.

Achievement description:

Completing the following event to gain greater protection against the Kar'Zok:

{checkbox} Essence of the Dragon I (Group) {checkbox} Suffer the Breath of Atrebe while under the effect of the Unstable Infusion.

GRANTS YOU THIS ACHIEVEMENT REWARD:

AA: Essence of the Dragon

The essence of the Kar'Zok is in your blood.

This passive ability grants you immunity to Gust of Atrebe, Aura of the Kar'Zok, and Aura of Kor-Sha.

Requirements: Level 100, No previous ability requirements.

Lore

After being poisoned and narrowly escaping death, Tsaph Katta has reemerged from his stasis and finds himself more determined than ever. His time in stasis and brush with death has strengthened his resolve.

He has reformed the Combine Empire, building over its ruins on the Kunark continent and inviting those from all races to join him in creating a single peaceful and prosperous empire. Driven by a desire for diplomacy and a head full of noble ideas, Tsaph has plans for his empire to span all of Norrath. And his plans begin with expanding throughout Kunark. Tsaph, however, is not the only one trying to take control over the continent.

Many years after the fall of the Sebilisan Empire, the continent of Kunark is far from peaceful, but no single race rises too far above the others.

The Sarnak still inhabit Kunark, and they are much more powerful than they were before. The King has left Chardok, and Queen Velazul Di’zok has unified all of the Sarnak under her rule. The Sarnak no longer face internal strife and are more organized than ever.

The Sarnak Empire is experiencing a resurgence and, like Tsaph, they have their own plans for conquering Kunark. They have rallied around Atrebe Sathir. Atrebe, a master of elder magic, has not been seen since the time of the Sebilisan Empire, after an explosion destroyed his lab. Many mistook this prolonged disappearance for his death. Atrebe and the Sarnak have many motivations for wanting to control Kunark, but one thing is certain - they are more than willing to wipe out whatever (or whomever) stands in their way.

The Empires of Kunark are clashing, and many of Kunark’s other inhabitants have found themselves caught in the middle of the conflict. In this relentless time of war, you’ll have to do whatever it takes to secure the future of the Combine Empire.

Empires of Kunark Preview: Lore

Expansion summary

After decades of slumber, Imperator Tsaph Katta awakens and vows to reform the Combine Empire – the progenitors of much of the human race – by any means necessary. He will lead them into a renewed age of prosperity. With the former glorious capital of his nation, Katta Castrum, rebuilt in the treacherous lands of Kunark and renamed after his daughter Lcea, Tsaph Katta focuses on rebuilding the coalition between the races of Norrath. He vows to cement his place in the annals of history as The Great Unifier, but not all are ready to bend to the will of Katta and his allies, least of all the current inhabitants of Kunark. If Tsaph Katta is to unify the world, he will need to begin with the dangerous Sarnak of Chardok, drawing their attentions away from a newfound power. Will a unified Norrath prevail or will the Combine's arrival lead to a war of catastrophic proportions?

Make haste and return to the ruins of Kunark and choose your side in the coming turmoil.
