For this marathon of a task you need to collect 50 of all 8 types of Alsa Thel, each based on a different Alaran god. Near each of the 8 sentry stones in East and West Sepulcher you'll find "a thelasa ereth of Ildaera" or "a thelasa ereth of Ildaera". Each of these will give you one of a four tasks that reward you with 3-7 of the Alsa Thel that matches the stone they are near. For example, the ereth near the Sentry Stone of Kolos can give "Relic of Beasts: Culling the Herd" which rewards you with 3 Alsa Thel of Beasts".

Each task win locks out that type of essence for 1 hour lockout, a max 3 hour duration (or less for time trials), and rewards about 1aa in addition to the essences. The task offered is random but you can cycle through to get the one you want.
