Heroic Adventures are a system of missions that scale to your party's level and equipment. To be first released with the Call of the Forsaken expansion. They may be considered a more advanced version of Lost Dungeons of Norrath.

Mission style content that allow for unique experiences each time you play through them, including a chance at new loot, rares, and currency you can collect and spend at special merchants!

EverQuest.com - Expansion Content

Heroic Adventures are designed primarily for 3 players + 3 mercs of levels 95–100. 2 players + 2 mercs should be viable in most cases, but they will need to have a bit more skill, gear, or class synergy to pull it off effectively.

During Heroic Adventures tasks, there is a chance that a rare (named) mob will spawn.

Official word

From SOE (used with permission):

What Heroic Adventures Are

A Heroic Adventure is a series of customized tasks, with multiple options for what can happen at each step of each task, and multiple routes to take you on each story. They are instanced, and designed for 2-3 players with mercs to finish them in 30-45 minutes.

Level ranges

The Heroic Adventure system was created in a way that allows us to scale content to your level. Currently it scales for those of you in the 95 to 100 range, but we're going to open it up to lower levels, complete with meaningful rewards for those levels as well. We are also working on having more Mercenary Equipment available at lower levels in the very near future! So even if you do not play a high level character, there will be many benefits for owning the Call of the Forsaken Expansion. We hope to have this ready for you early next year, but stay tuned for more details in the next couple months as we get closer to this launch.

Hate Rising changes

Also, a big change will be coming to our Heroic Adventures. We have scaled our existing Heroic Adventures by level, so you can play this exciting content earlier. So that means if you are level 85 and you haven’t played Call of the Forsaken yet, you will now be able to receive the tasks and quests from the quest givers. A little side note on level spread for missions: stay tuned for some more information from Prathun in the very near future on what we’re hoping to accomplish!

How You Get Them

Inside the open world zone for Bixie Warfront [also some in The Dead Hills], you will find 3 quest-givers for Heroic Adventurers, with the "Heroic Adventures" label under their name. Each of those NPCs is associated with a section of the zone (Industrial/Residential, Military, Main Hive). When you request a Heroic Adventure from that NPC, you will get a task in that section of the zone, chosen at random. You cannot specify which specific task you want inside that area.

How It Works Inside the Heroic Adventure

Each step on a task can have multiple options. For example, a specific task may take you through the Bixie factory, but there are three different scenarios that can be playing out there: a productive work day, a worker strike, or an after-hours theft.

NPCs will not respawn inside of the instance. You are meant to play through the Heroic Adventure content, and then leave and get another one--not farm the NPCs inside it for hours. You will only see the current Task Element in your Task window, but if you accidentally kill the NPCs for a future Element before you can see it, you will still get credit for it.

The NPCs inside of the Heroic Adventure zone will scale all of their stats, damage, and loot based on the highest-level character in the player group, from levels 95-100.

Rares will spawn inside of the Heroic Adventures, and will have set positions along the tasks and routes, so you can learn where to find them if you're hunting a particular one. They will not spawn every time you progress along that route, but will have a % chance to spawn.
