Every year Norrath celebrates Halloween with events and items for a limited time. In each home town, Spooky Sally gives away costumes and Haunted Jack gives away candy. Some of the events listed are from past years and might or might not be available each year.

For 2023, Nights of the Dead began on Wednesday, October 11 at 00:00 PDT and ended on Tuesday, November 7 at 23:00 PST. There appear to be no new quests or missions for 2023.

• Aragol's Seance (2007)
• Big Trouble in Little Mesa (2022) (Allakhazam, EQResource) - Given by Astyn the Gray in Blightfire Moors. Shared task (1-6 players). Loot in chest (around 9.6k HP/Mana/End gear). Reward for completing the three mission challenges is a Grim Gumdrop Familiar.

  • Scarecrow Roundup (2009) - Someone must complete Carry the Torch in order to spawn mobs needed to get updates for this.

• Necromancer's Garden (2007) - Shared task (1-6 players).

• Terror of Illis Taberish (2010) - Shared task. Reward is a Vampire Bat for your house.
  • Under Your Skin (2010) - Given by Rhaeda Evel in Plane of Knowledge by the main bank. It is necessary to do Terror of Illis Taberish to request the mission from Rhaeda Evel. The reward is a undead rabbit pet for your house.
• The Hunt for Tattooed Flesh (2009) - This task is given to you after completing Digging Their Graves. To complete this quest, just do Digging Their Graves five times. There is a lockout on Digging Their Graves of around 18 hours. Completing this quest will give you a Frightening Writ which is used to gain access to the scarecrow mercenaries from "a frightening liaison" in the Plane of Knowledge. You should also receive the title, "the Gravedigger".
• The Rot Within (2022) (Allakhazam, EQResource) - Given by Tully Alford in Blightfire Moors. There are several versions depending about your level. The information here is for level 106+. Reward is Petrifying Peanut Butter Cookie.
• The Rot's Sporali (2022) (Allakhazam, EQResource) - Given by Tully Alford in Blightfire Moors. Reward is Ghoulish Grape Juice.
• The Witch's Wishes (2021) (Allakhazam, EQResource) - Introduced earlier but fixed in 2021.
• Toadstool Surprise (2006)
• Toxxulia Pie Fling (2007)
• Troublemakers in Faydark (2007)
• Undead Rising (2009)

• Bone Mask of Horror (2005) - A series of five quests. The reward is the Bone Mask of Horror - Effect: Illusion Frost Bone (Casting Time: 5.0)
  • The Hungry Halfling - Given by Mippie Diggs in Kithicor Forest, at the zone to Rivervale. Reward is a Bristlebane's Ticket of Admission and 5 Dose Essence of Dark Elf.
  • Trick-or-Treat for the Old Man - Collect 10 Candies. Given by Old Man Draykey (Kithicor, North of HHP zone)
  • Missing Costume Pieces (shared task) - Given by A Dressed-Up Halfling (Kithicor, West of WK zoneline, near log.)
  • The Bone Collector - Given by Barsin, the Bone Collector (Kithicor, Lake, West side.)
  • Out With the Old (Story Teller) - Cathil and A Silly Puppet: PoP God Mission - Given by a guy with a puppet in Kithicor. Group task.

Achievements

Added in 2014 are six achievements:

• Nights of the Dead: Pernicious Puppets - Complete one of The Bone Collector tasks, one of the Missing Costume Pieces tasks, The Hungry Halfling, Trick-or-Treat for the Old Man, Out With the Old.
• Nights of the Dead: The Monster Mash - Complete Toadstool Surprise, Aragol's Seance, Making Candy Apples, Find the Black Cat, Skeleton Zapping, Haunted Cave, Great Zombie Attack, Lycanthrope's Cure, Monster Mash.
• Nights of the Dead: Undead Rising - Complete Toxxulia Pie Fling, Nektulos Ghost Rider, Troublemakers in Faydark, Undead Rising.
• Nights of the Dead: Garden Variety Ghouls - Complete Carry the Torch, Scarecrow Roundup, Necromancer's Garden.
• Nights of the Dead: Strange Ways - Complete The Hunt for Tattooed Flesh.
• Nights of the Dead: Altered Beasts - Complete one of Terror of Illis Taberish tasks, Under Your Skin.

Added in 2021:

• Nights of the Dead: Magnificent Winter Squash - Complete Missing Pumpkings, Carving Pumpkings, Squashing Pumpkins.

Added in 2022:

• Nights of the Dead: Big Trouble in Little Mesa Mission Challenges - Reward Grim Gumdrop Familiar.

Progression servers
