'''Easter egg''' is a term used to describe a message, image, or feature hidden in a video game, film, or other, usually electronic, medium. Here are some of them in EverQuest. {| width=100% | __TOC__ | [[File:Easterquest.gif|center]] |} == NPC names == * Quest NPC Rikk'ti Crikk't in [[Frontier Mountains (Empires of Kunark)]] is a reference to a side character, Rickety Cricket, in the TV show ''It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia''. * Named rats in Dagnor's Caldron "Flotsam" and "Jetsam". There is also a "Flotsam" and "Jetsam" in Gulf of Gunthak. Flotsam and Jetsam was the band Jason Newstead was in before replacing Cliff Burton as bassist of Metallica, as well as terms for marine debris associated with vessels. * Two sharks in Kedge Keep, "Cauldronboil and Cauldronbubble" after Shakespeare's play ''The Tragedy of Macbeth''. * Princess Lenia in High Keep saying "Aren't you a little short for a High Pass Guard". A reference to Princes Leia in ''Star Wars''. * Two named Evil Eyes in Gorge are named Syrkil (circle) and Sviir (sphere) * The two Bank NPCs in Katta Castrum are named Lucius and Titus. Reference to the two main characters from the Rome series. * Tavid Dennant in The Guild Lobby is a reference to actor David Tennant who played "The Doctor" in the TV series ''Doctor Who''. In addition, the game titles "Time Lord" and "of the Time Lords" are from "Doctor Who". Ask Tavid about his watch. * A named mob in Temple of Bertoxxulous "The Doctor" is likely also from ''Doctor Who''. * Riallion Cassand <Rebellion Outfitter> in Sarith sells raid gear and Sholano <Rebel Sympathizer> in City of Bronze sells raid gear. They are anagrams of Lando Calrissian and Han Solo from ''Star Wars''. * Masterchef Ram`see - Frontier Mountains (Chef Gordon Ramsey). * Lars McMannus and Ulrich McMannus - Western Karana (Lars Ulrich, Metallica Drummer). * Joffrey Clay, Sansa Nursk - Bardβs guild in South Qeynos (Game of Thrones references) * The bankers in Thurgadin (original ''Scars of Velious'') are named Mort and Gage (mortgage) * Watchman Grep in Steamfont Mountains. grep is a tool frequently used by software developers * Sailor Twift (Taylor Swift) but you can't find her till anniversary time * "At Kurn's Tower, everything must go!" Bargynn, famous inhabitant of this tower of the undead and burynai, resides in the basement, with his yard-sale collection of merchandise. "Bargynn basement" - get it? * Just how ugly is she, anyway? Lynuga the troll is so ugly, even her name is "an ugly" one... (Lynuga is an anagram of "an ugly"). * Bait Masterson used to be found in East Freeport where he spawned on the shore near the rock in the middle of the water. Now, he has recently been seen in the Qeynos Aqueducts, where he is a placeholder for a quest. His name is a reference to William Barclay "Bat" Masterson, the American frontier lawman known for his good looks and ivory-handled pistols. This Bait, however, seems only interested in fishing... * Guards Regis and Philbin in the Qeynos Hills area. These both refer to Regis Philbin, popular TV gameshow host. == Overseer == * Mistmoore Advisor has the description "Present in Mistmoore Castel to drink and to know things". This is a reference to the ''Game of Thrones'' television series. * Overseer quest "OK Gloomer" is a play on "OK Boomer" insult == Quests == * The quest ''[https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3583 Timmi Fell Down the Well!]'' is a reference to the television show ''Lassie''. While it is a widely shared joke, in the show Timmy never fell down a well. * ''The Serpent's Spine'' quest "Snakes on a Plain", a reference to the movie ''Snakes on a Plane''. == Other == * The zone names North Qeynos, Qeynos Catacombs, Qeynos Hills, and South Qeynos all use the reverse of SonyEQ (QEynoS).
