The Illusion Key Ring was introduced with The Broken Mirror expansion. It allows you to place up to 125 illusion items on it, freeing up bag space and keeping them always available. It also allows you to separate the "stat" buff of the illusion from the appearance.

The Illusion Key Ring with 10 slots is only available for characters of accounts which have purchased The Broken Mirror. Getting the expansion at no extra cost by buying later expansions gives you the illusion key ring with zero slots.

Additional slots may be purchased with Daybreak Cash in the Marketplace, as well as obtained by purchasing the Collector's or Premium editions of The Broken Mirror.

Illusions purchased from the Marketplace won’t count against the slots in your Illusion Key Ring. You will automatically receive an additional illusion slot whenever you add a Marketplace illusion to your Illusion Key Ring. This slot will go away if you remove that Marketplace illusion.

Your illusion item is actually placed into the key ring, which effectively creates additional inventory slots on your character that can only be used for illusions.

Both the Mount Key Ring and the Illusion Key Ring are accessed through the Key Rings button in the Inventory Window
