Empires of Kunark (EoK) will be the 23rd EverQuest expansion. It was announced on September 1, 2016. Release is scheduled for November 2016.

From various sources, we can use divination to guess:

Two new alternate currency placeholders can be found in the Alt. Currency tab in game, both labeled SKU24 Raid Currency
From the Beta forum, a Familiar Key Ring has been coded into EoK.
From the Beta forum, you can have a pet and a familiar summoned at the same time.
