Empires of Kunark (EoK) will be the 23rd EverQuest expansion. It was announced on September 1, 2016. Release is scheduled for November 16, 2016.
The beta test is scheduled to begin on October 6, 2016 and is scheduled to end sometime in November, 2016. However, dates may change if needed. Everyone that pre-orders Empires of Kunark gets immediate access to the beta server once it is available.

For pre-ordering, you receive an Iksar statue and get into Beta.

- Two new alternate currency placeholders can be found in the Alt. Currency tab in game, both labeled SKU24 Raid Currency
- Familiar Key Ring
- From the Beta forum, you can have a pet and a familiar summoned at the same time.
- From the Beta forum, all classes will be able to purchase the AA Pet Discipline, which will allow you to give your temporary pet commands. Temporary pets are those that are summoned from AAs (and possibly items) that remain for only a very short time.
